Το QOwnNotes είναι ένα σημειωματάριο αρχείων απλού κειμένου ανοιχτού κώδικα (GPL) με υποστήριξη markdown και διαχείριση λίστας εργασιών για GNU/Linux, Mac OS X και Windows, που (προαιρετικά) λειτουργεί μαζί με την εφαρμογή σημειώσεων του ownCloud (ή Nextcloud). Έτσι, μπορείτε να γράψετε τις σκέψεις σας με το QOwnNotes και να τις επεξεργαστείτε ή να τις αναζητήσετε αργότερα από την κινητή συσκευή σας (όπως με το CloudNotes) ή την υπηρεσία web του ownCloud. Οι σημειώσεις αποθηκεύονται ως αρχεία απλού κειμένου και μπορείτε να τις συγχρονίσετε με το δικό σας πρόγραμμα-πελάτη συγχρονισμού Cloud. Φυσικά μπορεί να χρησιμοποιηθεί και άλλο λογισμικό, όπως Dropbox, Syncthing, Seafile ή BitTorrent Sync.
